Guest Lecture:
On 14 November 2007 John was invited by Michael Bromby of the
Centre
for Legal Reasoning to deliver a Guest Lecture to Post Graduate students
in
Glasgow Caledonian University. His title
was 'The Jaws of Victory' and his theme was how a well legally-reasoned case,
supported by high authority (precedent) can be clutched from predicted and even
expected victory. The students seemed to enjoy the lecture and enthusiastically
asked questions at the end. For John it was an opportunity to recall just how
little 'outsiders', even those on their way in, know about the workings of the
courts. John has been invited back and looks forward to returning to Glasgow
Caledonian University.
